From Venasque you can continue to Gordes. You can make a stopover at the Sénanque abbey, the most photographed abbey in France, especially when the lavender is in bloom in the field before. The abbey is still inhabited by Cistercian monks. The beauty of the architecture and the Sénanque valley is breath-taking. Gordes itself is rather small but also has a beautiful location. Typical for this region are the old stone shepherds houses ("les bories").
Roussillon is a cosy village that is well known for its ochre rocks, which you can admire in a walk “Le Chemin des Ocres”.
