Bédoin is an ideal village for walkers, cyclists, good food and drink, and discovery tours of the flora and fauna of the Alps. But Bédoin itself is also worth a visit. Especially the old village center - where the most important fortified city settlements were and where our house is located - exudes authenticity. This old village lies on the St Antonin slope. At the very top of this hill stood a castle with the St Pierre church nearby. Only the latter has been left over and is currently being restored. You can walk all the way up and enjoy the beautiful view. During the many religious wars the population could hide behind the settlement walls, which you can still see very well today in the "Chemin des Remparts". The "Portail Catheron", located behind the corner of our house, is one of the southernmost of 4 gates that gave access to Bédoin.
In the "Avenue Barral des Beaux" - just a few minutes' walk from our house - you will find plenty of cafes, terraces, and restaurants. There are also good bakers, a bio butcher, an ice cream parlour, a beauty salon, souvenir shops, a supermarket, ... you will find your taste. In this street the weekly market also takes place on Monday. And if you fancy a refreshing dip in the water during the hot summer months, the beautiful public swimming pool of Bédoin is just 500 meters on foot from our house - highly recommended!
